Tyler Tate, a washed-up actor whose life has been ravaged by alcoholism, retreats to a small motel near his Ohio hometown after losing his job and family. Overwhelmed by despair, Tate finds himself in a fog of hopelessness until he starts volunteering at a local theater. Teaching acting to a group of troubled teens, he begins to see a vision of a better future.
